Last week we shared our work on renovating the science and robotics labs at LAUSD Wright Middle School, a S.T.E.A.M. magnet school with a focus on project based learning in science and technology. We're happy to share the fundraising efforts of Mrs. Romero, a science teacher at Wright, who is raising money to provide her students with three Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics core kits.
“With this starter kit we will be able to create three First Lego League (FLL) Robotics teams each school year. We will be able to further our knowledge of basic engineering design and programming, problem solving, and an FLL key term - “coopertition”. Where we learn through friendly competition and cooperation. By continuing to expose my students to various forms of building and programming I am preparing them for a future full of success in various STEAM related fields. My students LOVE robotics and an FLL addition will further their love of the subject and create life long STEAM learners.”
The deadline for funding is February 9, 2018. You can help support Mrs. Romero and her students here.
