Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District is relocating their District offices for the first time in over 30 years. Berliner Architects worked with the District to review their work flow, business practices and the impact of remote work as part of preparing a detailed program for their new district offices. Working with multiple departments and dozens of stakeholders, the program reflects the needs for improved work flow and collaboration between departments. The District recently purchased a building adjacent to the High School where they will be moving next spring. In addition to 27,000 ASF of office space a 2,000 SF District board room will be used for bi-weekly school board meetings and a host of other community activities. Creating an attractive, efficient, and affordable space that reflects the values and vision for the children of the District was essential.
