Berliner Architects recently completed the new KIPP Compton Community School. The Berliner team studied the neighborhood and schools around the site to inform the design scheme. Since the site is adjacent to residential and commercial areas the Berliner Team was sensitive to sight lines and visibility when designing the school, making sure that the street facing facades incorporated different materials, colors, and massing to give relief to them. The school was designed at a smaller scale to be comfortable for the elementary school students and incorporates warm, inviting color palettes.
