LAUSD Lokrantz ADA Upgrades

The Berliner team is currently in construction on a voluntary barrier removal project for Los Angeles Unified School District’s Historic Sven Lokrantz Special Education Center. Sidney Eisenshat designed the school in 1961 to meet the needs of students with orthopedic challenges in grades K-12. This voluntary barrier removal project improves the school’s wheelchair accessibility and play spaces, utilizing the American Disabilities Act as a standard for campus accessibility. The renovation includes classrooms, entry ways, offices, restrooms, and signage, and will help the school's students with disabilities better navigate the campus and further promote the school’s M.O.V.E. (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) program.
