Pacific Palisades Speculative Houses
Client: Private
Scope: New Construction
Size: 2 3,000 SF Houses
Completion: 2008
Project Manager: Richard Berliner, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, ALEP
Located on one of the few remaining undeveloped pieces of land near the Pacific Palisades Village these two houses are designed to fit the steep hillside and existing landscape in an environmentally sensitive way. Using the Mid Century Modern architectural vocabulary and post and beam construction the two 3000 SF three story houses cascade down the hillside with multiple levels and balconies that preserve the existing trees and optimize views. The expansive public rooms at the top entry level flow down open stairs to the more private bedrooms that are surrounded by trees with access to gardens that step down the hillside.
