For two days in early December 2017 – 108 years and a few days after Queen Lili‘uokalani so generously created her trust – the teams of Lili’uokalani Trust and Berliner Architects came together in a charette, beginning the collaborative process of imagining the physical embodiment of the Trust’s ambitious future work: a multi-purposed Imagination Center designed to inspire and serve the creative and social needs of its kamali`i and community.

Woven throughout the grand schemes and dreams, however, there are core needs which reflect the team and community at hand. In an attempt to distill the core programmatic elements, Berliner Architects assembled a basic program document after Charrette Day 1 to being to give shape to the previous day’s discussion.
